Duct Testing, Sealing & Replacement

Certified HERS Raters

As experienced HERS raters for over 12 years, we know how to get the job done right. We offer duct sealing and testing (HERS rating) to ensure your system will pass the California Energy Commission requirements to the best of our ability.

Providing duct replacement, we install insulated R-8 ducts to ensure peak energy efficiency. Industry experts estimate that more than 2/3 of home duct systems are leaking enough to justify sealing or repairing to save on energy costs.

Leaking Duct Issues

Leaks in your ducts can cause several problems. First, this can lead to losing the hot and cold air from your HVAC unit which translates to lost dollars and lost energy. Second, it can introduce contaminants and dust from your attic or crawl space which provides dirty air, pathogens, and nuisance smells into your home. Leakage can be caused by incorrect installation of your unit or develop over time naturally. It is important to give room for the ducts in your attic so you can avoid a box smashing one, etc.

Duct Sealing & Replacement

Ductwork carries the hottest air in the house in the winter, and the coldest air in the house in the summer. In other words, these ducts carry the most expensive air in the house. In some cases, ducts are damaged or leaking to the point where they will need to be sealed or replaced. Our technicians can complete this at the time of testing to ensure our job is done as conveniently as possible for the home owner. To avoid damage to your duct work, be sure to have your technician insulate your duct to R-6 to keep the air coming from the the attic cool as well as installing insulation to R-38 to cover and protect any duct work in the attic.
